The Sandy Kay 5K
The first Sandy Kay 5K took place in 2015, in honor of Sandy Kay Nye. Sandy Nye was the grandmother of Interact members. She battle MS for many years, and was an inspiration to many in the community. Her generous and caring disposition will be remembered by many.
The first race received a lot of wonderful support, and was able to raise $2,000 to donate to MS research. The club decided to hold a second race, this time in honor of Matt Olson. Mr. Olson is a teacher at Benzie Central High School, and inspires students daily with his enthusiasm and involvement. He was diagnosed with MS in 2016; however, true to his nature, he continues to coach multiple sports, teach, and promote school spirit and involvement at Benzie Central.
This year, Mr. Olson will be running in the third annual Sandy Kay 5K, and we hope you'll join him! Click the button below for more information, and for a link to registration.
